About Quiet Out Loud
All the tunes in this vinyl sketch were recorded directly from the mixer with no editing or digital clean up. In the early days of the Apocalypse, embracing truth seems a far more productive endeavor than chasing after perfection.
Fireweed Collective offers mental health education and mutual aid through a Healing Justice and Disability Justice lens. We support the emotional wellness of all people and center QTBIPOC folks in our internal leadership, programs, and resources.
Our work seeks to disrupt the harm of systems of abuse and oppression, often reproduced by the mental health system. Our model for understanding ‘severe mental illness’ is community and relationship-based, and divests from the prison industrial complex and psych wards.
This plane is definitely crashing.
This boat is obviously sinking.
This building is totally burning down.
A call to action, commonly known by the initialism CTA, is a strategic marketing tool designed to spur an immediate response from an audience, guiding them toward a specific action.
NNH began with the (perhaps naive) hope that it could be of service to folks who needed it. I wasn't exactly sure who that meant- Was it the potential readership? The Mutual Aid groups that would be featured in each post? Or maybe it'd be other creative types- who were equally fed up with the constant "me at the center" paradigm required by our Tech Overlords, and looking for a place to get weird and do some good...?
SO, if you're out there- whomever you may be- Let me know. Leave a comment. Click a link. Tell a friend. Pitch an idea. Do anything to feel less alone in the world.
